Eligibility Criteria – RRB Technician Grade 3
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)
- Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
- Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
- Age relaxation as per Government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen etc.
Educational Qualification (Grade-III)
- Matriculation / SSLC + ITI in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT OR
- Matriculation / SSLC + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the concerned trade

Computer Based Test (CBT) – Single stage for shortlisting

General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Q)
Analogies, Series, Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation, Conclusions, Decision Making, Similarities & Differences, Analytical Reasoning.
General Science (40 Q)
Physics, Chemistry & Life Sciences of Class 10 level (NCERT based). Highest weightage section – focus here for better score.

RRB Technician Grade 3 Salary & Benefits
Pay Level: Level-2 of 7th CPC | Basic Pay: ₹19,900
In-hand salary typically ranges higher after DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other Railway benefits (depending on city classification). Additional perks include medical facilities, pass/privilege tickets, pension benefits under NPS, etc.

Result Details

Cut-off
Cut-off Details
RRB Technician Grade 3 cut-off marks will be released along with the result. The cut-off depends on factors such as number of vacancies, difficulty level of the CBT, and category of the candidate. Qualifying marks are UR/EWS – 40%, OBC/SC – 30%, ST – 25%.
Selection Process: CBT → Document Verification → Medical Examination
Computer Based Test (CBT)
Single stage CBT for shortlisting candidates. 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes duration with 1/3 negative marking for each wrong answer.
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents including educational certificates, ITI certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), age proof and identity proof for verification.
Medical Examination
Candidates must pass the prescribed medical fitness test as per Railway standards. The medical category for Technician Grade 3 is typically B-2 or C-2 depending on the trade.
